What this is about is the EU now trying to link UK energy market alignment to structural funds. Why? They're skint. Apparently Germany is trying to prevent "other states" - read France - doing this.

We’ve been playing in July for the last 30 years without incident. Plenty countries play at those temps. Euros just be soft like that. No one anywhere plays in -12 though.
FWIW the stated reasons for the change are transfer window alignment, not because Roman Burki doesn’t like playing in July.
