I just read an interesting profile of Zouterwoude, the municipality just south of Leiden, and apparently the smallest by population in South Holland in the local newspaper. (By which I mean, I used Google Translate, because my Dutch isn't good enough.)

Zoeterwoude, de kleinste gemeente van Zuid-Holland, was de afgelopen jaren het toneel van grote politieke veranderingen. In aanloop naar de komende verkiezingen, die met een hoop onzekerheden gepaard gaan, liep journalist Michel Maas maanden rond in deze kleine gemeente en sprak met tientallen inwoners over de toekomst van hun dorp in het Groene Hart.

Tag der offenen Tür bei der #Heineken #Brauerei in #Zouterwoude. Selbstverständlich wurde ein Popupparkplatz für Fahrräder ei gerichtet.

I used to work with someone who moved to Lieden to work at the Heineken plant at Zouterwoude. He loves it there

Polders Poelgeest NL ESE wind clear sunny. A Brent goose which dropped in was a black brant @ivo-walsmit.bsky.social ! An escape was mooted news to me, but yes some are in collections in NL. Examining my flight picture prior to its' departure it was. Yellow ring left leg #birding # dutchbirding
