🌱 Fall Hope. Planted ~140 bits of garlic. Split is about 60 Inchelium Red and 80 Kettle River Giant. I grew a Fall crop of Purple Carrots to get a crop rotation in this space between last Summer's garlic harvest and planting today. Soil looked great. #zone9A #pdx

🌱 Popcorn Progress Day 177. It popped! And it's delicious! Finally felt like the ears were dry enough such that I could shuck them by hand. Shucked a test ear and popped the kernels. I just put a sprinkling of Jacobsen Salt Co. Kosher Salt on it and we swear there is a buttery flavor. #zone9A #pdx

🌱 Grew various hot peppers this year and they did well, including some orange datil peppers. Decided to try making fermented hot sauce. So harvested in the October sun and into brine in mason jars with fermentation lids. #zone9A #pdx

The Popcorn continues to grow next to the sidewalk with the volunteer pumpkins spilling out onto the sidewalk Massive Dark Knight Pumpkin plants that already have small fruit growing under those massive leaves. And yes, the eventual pumpkins will be black.
