#WorldWideWeb
It's crazy to me that IMDB started in 1990, 35 years ago, just one year after the Internet came online! It was two months before the first web browser, WorldWideWeb, was released! In fact IMDB started as a Usenet posting which was later turned into an online database that could be queried via email!

Preparing to film the first module of my new #CSS course. There will also be text for the sickos who like to read.

We'll cover the essential features, but we'll also explain how it all fits together (and when it doesn't).

DerStandard war schon immer Vorreiter.

Dank Thomas Volgger die erste österreichische Tageszeitung im Internet des WorldWideWeb.

Nun wird dank @riedmann.net als CR vorrangig #BlueSky beworben in der Printvariante.
#Bluesky statt Elon Musks X -
DER STANDARD macht es einfach. Prima.
Zwar die kleinste Änderung auf der gedruckten Titelseite, aber ab morgen sind wir quasi BlueSky-Zeitung und tragen den größten und relevantesten Standard-Communities Rechnung - abseits des Standard-Forums selbst.

The first web browser, the WorldWideWeb, was both a browser and WYSIWYG editor – "there was no difference between the author and the reader". We ended up with "passive browsers" when WorldWideWeb was ported from the NeXTSTEP to other OS's.

Tim Berners-Lee wrote what would become known as WorldWideWeb on a NeXT Computer during the second half of 1990, while working for CERN, a European nuclear research agency.

The WorldWideWeb was created to fix a dire lack of cat videos.

I just report the facts and nothing but the facts

"The first web browser, called WorldWideWeb, was created in 1990 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee.[12][13] He then recruited Nicola Pellow to write the Line Mode Browser, which displayed web pages on dumb terminals."

34 years ago today:

On December 20, 1990, Tim Berners-Lee, a young computer scientist in Geneva, laid the foundation for an innovation that changed the world: the very first website, the #worldwideweb, went online at #cern.

Pre-worldwideweb it was called 'Greed'.

Post-www it is called "Fiduciary Responsibility." Roughly translated that means 'If I can touch the money, I should get to keep it'.

Start thinking differently. Instead, think, I can, I am good at math.
Look up math instruction on the WorldWideWeb 😁
I, too, struggle w/ math. I look up elementary math calculations, follow the steps, and practice.

On This Day In #CanadianHistory 🇨🇦

JULY 23, 1996

A Toronto research company’s survey results showed that 29% of Canadian adults have used the Internet.

I guess 30 years ago, 29% was a feat.
My how far we’ve come.
Or descended.
Depending on how you look at it.
