This fic is incredible and does such impressive Kylo characterization through the double challenge of being in Rey's POV and a short wordcount. !! Sexy shame!!!

I wonder if there's a place where all the periods I've ever deleted to squeeze into a wordcount on social media go?

I wonder if they hate me? To be created to produce clarity, only to be sacrificed on the altar of conciseness at the price of grammatical structure...

...I've had too much caffeine.

i get why the writers have chosen to spend a lot of their wordcount building intrigue and scaffolding for The Reveal that I presume is coming at the end of Disc 2. unfortunately for them, I was introduced to the concept of Dream Zanarkand at 8 years old. I come with the scaffolding pre-built.

Fun ("fun") fact: I have now written over a novella-length of these. Current wordcount total is 18,645, which is a frankly silly amount to have chatted about this book, but I'm having fun.

Wordcount as at 11am today: 22,146.

Creeping upward.

I did about 900 words on the other thing I need to work on, for ~3400 words yesterday. Today I'm going to do more of that & hopefully finish what I need to do on it, then try to synopsize the last section of the main project so I have a real roadmap. :p

Retreat wordcount so far: ~19k (18.5 useable)

And remember

Sometimes if you really hit a banger scene or something then that's more important than raw wordcount.

Unless you are doing nonfiction writing.

1138 is the number today for entropy reduction. Also happens to be part of the name of a good early George Lucas movie THX 1138. #wordcount

Cure Sunshine and Moonlight's arcs were incredible. I loved their developments and the time the writers took in developing them into Precures. I hate how limited bluesky's wordcount is cuz I have so much thoughts about them and it'll take multiple paragraphs. Please get Yuri a therapist.

These are going to throw off the mean wordcount for sure...

Although if it's a book SERIES, 250,000 is probably not actually /that/ long. But for a fanfic... that's nuts.

600 words, that's a spark. That's spontaneous combustion.

#jayvik title: the herald and the dog
wordcount: 10,838
chapters: 1/3

Ending up somewhere else doesn’t magically fix a relationship. Especially not when Viktor won’t meet Jayce halfway. So when Jayce gets cursed, Viktor has to work for true love’s kiss.

this goes for a couple girls i know actually but this one i believe deserves the highest wordcount and the most sources cited

for the most part it's just that vim motions slap. i like to keep it minimal for writing, so i just use nvim-prose to show me wordcount and rough reading time estimate on my .md files. i also have <leader>ww bound to ':set wrap!<CR>:set linebreak!<CR>' for a quick word wrap toggle

With Bases, is it possible to filter and organise notes by wordcount?
November 11, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Hmm. I don't know about that. I've just filed copy of a review of a really terrible Triennial. But I needed wordcount to both explain why and then argue why and give counter examples, then also highlight some other better things at the Triennial in the fringe. I think many things need more than 800.

Completely forgetting that November is oftentimes a big month in the writing world ( #NaNoWriMo ) I set up my own 10-week wordcount deadline that expires on Thanksgiving Day and... what can I say! Likely won't be making this deadline either. But luckily will have lots of consolation pie at the ready

I find this time of year very moving. I hate all the poppy bullshit we see every year, along with the « Lest We Forget » flags…. But I find the stories of those who lost their lives in war very affecting indeed. There’s some amazing war poetry too. I like to dig […]

I only managed 3k of useable words and some brainstorming yesterday, so my wordcount has only dropped by a hundred or so. Minimum wordcount for today is 1170, or...if I put the anticipated count for the book to a closer-to-reality 80K...1885.

1170 is a much nicer number. 😭
