Prompt was #Translucent for #WindingWords. I bet I've spelled it wrong. I always add a c into that word.

and there it was. a bloom on a hopeful cheek as eyes clashed in hopes and dreams a soulmate, a playmate, the one, or just them it was enough. for a time and i poured myself out into vessels of joy heart gleaming in selfless translucency this is me. do you love it? say it is so and you did, then as you bloomed it seemed, once unless it was my hopeful eyes that deceived me it really was so long ago. once the promises shone from your eyes and i believed you but the words withered on stems in the dark as the promises never grew dreams died as your words changed and my heart darkened and i took my gift away it was never for you. but for the you i believed so long ago

Writing for the #WindingWords prompt, #Appetence. I learned a new word today.
He is a cornered snake claws and teeth flashing It is all he has to fuel him an aggressive appetence sinking his teeth into my soul letting the venom seep slow it is all he has left so he takes from others fighting and squalling biting and snarling anything to make him feel alive because the silence is too much to bear

Be careful when you step into that lush green Where clover sways in whispered welcome The leaves are sweet But the roots reach deep Feeding on death and bone. If you kneel in the soft whispering green And listen for a while to the quiet leaves You might hear the bones sigh And speak the tales of the dead Those who sank into the mud And the roots wrapped them up In a dark embrace As green grew up into leaves we see And children come to pick the leaves Bare feet brushing the quiet past Singing of clovered luck and gold Unaware of the hunger below As the bones feed the roots And the dead remember.
