USC ISI student @maxynroselight.bsky.social shared work on the network structure of anti-trans actors on TikTok

This work builds a taxonomy of anti- and pro-trans content and examines user interactions. There are more anti-trans actors and they are often connected to pro-trans users... #WebSci25

Loved this work from @patrickwu.bsky.social using semantically unrelated terms for in-context learning. He asked LLMs to classify texts...but replaced key terms with random text

Some models still performed well, suggesting they were relying on latent priors to assume what the user wanted #WebSci25

Celia Chen & Alex Leitch shared work from the
@hcil-umd.bsky.social lab on cross-platform violence detection

They release a dataset of 30k posts from 3 platforms annotated for _credible threats_ of violence. Their model can identify violent threats on other platforms with 81% accuracy! #WebSci25
