Love the support for the WNBAPA from the USWNT gals 🫶🏼

obviously, the players know better than I do and should stick with whomever they trust most to lead them. I'm just thinking out loud and realizing how rarely I've ever heard WNBAPA leadership call out shitty executives publicly like this.

Too many fucking games in too short a time. The WNBAPA really needs to fight for game limits depending on potential length of season.

Thanks to @dr-thompson.bsky.social two part post I was able to watch Napheesa Collier’s remarkable statement. Hope the WNBAPA live streams the upcoming CBA negotiations! @danaholtzbert.bsky.social @alexaphilippou.bsky.social @howardmegdal.bsky.social

The human element was huge too because clearly Cathy does not think of these players as anything more than pawns.

Just is not a wise strategy with the leadership in the WNBAPA, how smart those players are, and how wise they are based on their experiences thus far.

everyone is upset about the symptoms (bad officiating) when the disease (part-time refs, lack of training/support, no centralized replay system, etc.) should be the focus. yelling “they should be better!” over and over isn’t a plan.

so what is the plan, #wnba #wnbapa?

I'm a big fan of what Indiana Fever do during the offseason. But i also read that wnbapa want to renegotiate the deal with WNBA after this season. That will be a game changer too. I will enjoy 2025 season.

Indiana Fever Prioritized Signing This Standout Player During WNBA Free Agency
News broke at the end of January that the Indiana Fever had signed two-time WNBA All-Star and 2019 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard to a deal in

Correction: I actually think it was Terri, the WNBAPA Executive Director who asked Nneka to go get her. Williams was still ten minutes late
Nneka just came to the Studbudz’ room to wake Court up for a PA meeting at Phee’s urging 😅 #WNBA

The following is a statement of support for @voxmediaunion.bsky.social WGAE members at SB Nation and Vox Media from MLBPA, MLSPA, NFLPA, NHLPA, NWSLPA, PHPA, USLPA, & WNBAPA.

IDK, man. Openly retaliating against your rising star player for answering questions in an interview where club staff was present is just more examples of why the franchise has the reputation it does. Hope the WNBAPA gets involved. Never been a season tix holder who emails but this is kinda foul.

It’s not like Phee would be meeting 1 on 1 with Cathy to negotiate the CBA. She is one of three VPs on the WNBAPA executive committee. Nneka Ogumike is the President. Other members: Brianna Stewart, Elizabeth Williams, Kelsey Plum, Alysha Clark, Brianna Turner and Satou Sabally. And lots of lawyers.
October 6, 2025 at 5:57 PM
ugh true… but the WNBAPA could have too or one of the 3,000 draft sponsors — like if they can give every player a fucking brand new ipad they could fly her family out and prob would have gotten wayy more positive press
April 14, 2025 at 10:52 PM
WNBAPA better riot for better communication of trades & if they don’t get it in their CBA, don’t sign it. I don’t think they’ll get to the required consent like the NWSL has in this round b/c of the league’s set up but players need to hear first.
June 30, 2025 at 10:27 PM
One thing I've been thinking is that as fans we should only get merch that goes directly to players line the WNBAPA shirt and Everyone Watches Studbudz. Send a message to owners.
July 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM
But for the players this is a real obstacle.

There are great players in the league, but there is evidence that one brings in a massive chunk of the fans.

How much will ownership give in negotiations with the WNBAPA? How much will they move on compensation when one team/player is most of the money?
June 12, 2025 at 6:58 PM
- Paige finding more NIL money than her WNBA rookie contract (again, Caitlin Clark is getting $84k) would be a helluva chip for the WNBAPA to play in CBA negotiations.
- The Dallas Wings spiraling is probably a WNBA necessity.

WNBA is 5x5 PRO league
Unrivaled is 3x3 FOR 3 MONTHS

there is no conflict of interest.. and THE WNBA PLAYERS vote for who holds WNBAPA spots.. they voted for Phee and Stewie..

if they really thought either of them had conflict to interest they could vote others in then.. but haven't sooo!
October 7, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Gotta get the WNBAPA on that shit
The Grey Cup MVP trophy is, uh, easy to pack?
November 18, 2024 at 3:25 AM
Wings unicorn Satou Sabally will co-chair the WNBAPA as they head into negotiations this offseason.
August 14, 2024 at 9:08 PM
The WNBAPA is also worried about the CBA at the moment. They likely don’t want to create any sort of momentum for owners.
July 15, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Am I the only that thinks the Players and WNBAPA should be publicly speaking on the CBA even more now w/ the news that dropped about the NBA yesterday?
October 25, 2025 at 3:44 AM
WNBA has no legal right to ban players from playing basketball outside of their professional careers. It can be negotiated. And Phee, Stewie are not the ONLY voice in the WNBAPA that make the decision for the players. There are others.

Again, Unrivaled founding was done while consulting Cathy.
July 6, 2025 at 6:38 PM
There's a not insignificant chance that the WNBAPA is going to work over the league in way a player's union hasn't in our lifetime
September 30, 2025 at 5:53 PM
A proposal my last. There are measures to use in estimating contribution to revenue via contribution to wins. If WNBAPA expert hasn’t done it yet, they should. (I’m available if they need more help.)
Stewie had her competitive juices flowing last night, overcoming a sprained MCL but not overcoming rough nights from teammates.

For PHX, AT had a triple-double (yawn) and got great help from Satou Sabally. Fun to see their joy in the postgame interview.
