#WIASN
Advice requested from senior academics: I'm being approached once in a while (two recently) to supervise PhDs, and I would like to and have capacity, but do not currently have HEI status. Anyone knows a work around? (I'm open to e.g. affiliated status for this!)

WIASN position is they are an inclusive organisation and so no change. They have said they will fold before excluding.

Just saw some discussion on WIASN (Qs from NB and trans women asking if they have to leave) and the understanding is that previously trans people could not be excluded from single sex spaces because it was discriminatory, but now you can be BUT you don’t HAVE to be. It’s up to the provider.

Re the current Supreme Court ruling, are there other cis women academics who want to co-write a 'Not In Our Name' article or op-ed in response to the transphobic Supreme court ruling

… Petra was so supportive (along with other #WIASN members). Being in a new institution which is making redundancies has re-opened the trauma from UHI (would never recommend as an employer especially in health). But the difference is huge. At UHI department management just shrugged and ignored us.

So proud to be watching this ❤️

Shout out to #WIASN and so many other people in the room and not, who have contributed to my dear friend Az feeling brilliant today.

Credit for my above piece is partly due to members of #WIASN, my colleagues within the Civil Service, and those aforementioned tech bros. All of whom gave useful feedback on drafts and ideas. Or cautioned me not to be so open in the piece - oh well 😉

Are you on facebook? There's a community called WIASN, and they have a 'WIASN on the move' group as well where folks regularly share requests for accommodation etc.

I'm a member of #WIASN on Facebook, and I love it, but I'm wondering, is there any group specifically for women in academia with children?
