#Videoconferencing
Your regular reminder that Teams is the worst videoconferencing option.
I inquired of a friend - @eighthway.com - as to whether Teams could benefit from an exorcism and his comment was “Teams is beyond redemption”

Which is a hell of a statement from a Dominican!

Lowtax speedrun enjoyer is right.

I’m stuck in some hybrid hell where we use MS for everything but videoconferencing (Webex) and I want to stab my eyes out.
[norman rockwell guy]

teams is better than zoom or goto or webex
Please check your kids’ Halloween candy carefully this year.

I bit into a chocolate bar and found Microsoft Teams.

Why is videoconferencing not an option? Why does this require an in person meeting with no disclosure to the participants on what this meeting is about? I have a bad feeling about this.

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered virtually all of the U.S. military’s top commanders worldwide to gather on short notice — and without a stated reason — at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week.

Here’s what we know:

Ironically, the way to grow is to be the most kickass videoconferencing solution and create a network effect. Sadly, the target market is either Microsoft 365 shops with Teams, or Google Workspace shops with Meet, so what's a poor product manager to do?

My best friend works at a very well known white shoe firm, and noticed after she had her first child that the firm’s office renovations had installed lactation rooms (great!) with full videoconferencing capability (???).

I personally prefer India-based, work-from-home Airmeet. It’s the closest to in real life I’ve seen in webinar and videoconferencing apps. It’s also dead easy to use, accessible!, and feels more secure. Its servers are in India and Ireland (and US), and you can choose which. They need to add Canada!

“For some federal employees, returning to the office has meant an expansion of their duties to include cleaning toilets & taking out the trash. For others, it has been commuting to a federal building only to continue doing their work through videoconferencing.” #Trump www.nytimes.com/2025/03/31/u...
Federal Workers Walk Into Chaos Amid Return to Office
President Trump has described his new in-office requirement as a way to ensure workers are doing their jobs. He sees potentially leading more employees to quit as an added benefit.

I think the reason why my university really wants us to use Teams is that they know we will stop videoconferencing completely, which must have a positive impact on our productivity

Seems likely they are gathering for an in-person loyalty test to help cull leaders who still value their oaths to the Constitution. If they met on the secure videoconferencing system, then there might be a digital record.

We’re stuck with the most wasteful and clueless administration in history.

Everyone should be concerned by the vulnerability Hegseth is creating with this move. And Trump seems dazed and confused.

Watch every second of this.

My uni uses Microsoft Teams for videoconferencing, which means I have to log in at least five minutes early for a tutorial to allow for the Microsoft swirly thing to swirl around for the required amount of swirling.

I convinced some of my colleagues to use Jitsi for extra-curricular stuff, and […]

So, clinical psychologist, continue to treat clients, but now you are your own IT for the videoconferencing. Also, be a part time elementary school teacher. Bake bread bc the store is out. Plus learn about surgical hygiene and limit cross-contamination. 2/3
