How is Norris so shit at VSC restarts? Has there been a single VSC where he hasn't ended up super close to the guy behind or super far away from the guy ahead

He lost 11 seconds and some track position because of that puncture via VSC stop in a race he was 10.7 seconds off the win. Don't think he wins given Lando probably had a bit in reserve, but it's a remarkable drive. One of his best.
Wondering if that slow puncture I heard he got at the start of the race which forced a pit costed him a chance at the win, or actually made his race Ham Monaco 2008-style lol
But if my bike had balls it'd be my mom etc etc

FFS VSC at Bahrain. Though excellent cursing from Graham Goodwin who mentioned it was full green about 30 seconds before it went VSC.

Et c'était pendant un SC ou VSC. Pour le coup c'etait très bien vu - même si involontaire avec le recul.

i am going to add physics simulation to VSC. this is going to represent the last 1% of VSC's verification (9.9 - 10.0) and will possibly be the hardest segment of the verification.

I still hate how VSC is operated. "Drive to a 40% slower delta"?
Oh cool, so drive around still at over 120mpg in parts of some tracks whilst constantly eyeballing times on the dash.
That's a great way to be aware of potential dangers 🙄
Just make VSC the pit limiter. It's that simple.

This is why I was advocating for something like regionally deployable VSC sectors or something. Because yellow flags are wishy-washy. We need hard edges on the rules if they are there to protect competitors and track staff.

Carlos Sainz says he did “the safest thing I could do” when pulling over to retire from Formula 1’s Mexico Grand Prix, despite causing a late virtual safety car.
Sainz spun out of the race in the stadium section at the end of lap 68; the Williams driver drove towards the gap in the barriers that allows marshals to clear stricken cars.
Race control still neutralised the race via the

Max is going to murder someone at the FIA for that VSC, reasonably imo

So this was never a VSC, but considering the colossal screw up earlier with the marshals, they were covering their own arse.

did this really need to be a VSC?
I understand their caution to some extent but surely you just leave the car where it is for the last couple of laps and cover it with yellows

It's a shame it's not that easy to VSC specific marshalling sectors.
It probably can be done but it would be quite complicated and involve cars suddenly reducing speed in dangerous ways.

Think Verstappen would've been 2nd without VSC, but ah well
