#Undertale's
Undertale’s finale is one of the most emotional climaxes in any video game I’ve played. Here’s the concept art

I understand why we don't call Undertale's route Genocide anymore but Iji's the kind of heavy scifi where that's an accurate term for it. Getting a zero kill run and earning a special gun for the final boss was awesome to show off to my friends in high school.

Sans' abilities are that he can deal 1 point of damage while negating Undertale's invincibility cooldown, remember certain things from game resets, and halt the process of turn based combat by not letting you have a turn. How does that translate into fighting Goku. who fuckin knows man.

For those of you who love Undertale’s soundtrack, there’s some criminally underrated covers on this channel.

This is a game created by the dude who has been a musician for ages and who coined the term "detemmienation" for the save point in Undertale's Temmie Village - in other words, the Temmie nation.

I am VERY CERTAIN the Mike Puns are on purpose. XD

"You're just shading E33 again"

Not really, I was also thinking about the Paper Mario series; since it's one of those "I don't usually like (genre) BUT-" series

And I DO think part of Undertale's praise is the fact that you can simply Not Get Hit

(I like how Deltarune does it better but yeah)

Guys Everyman fucking killed Asriel and Chara, they will be a very relevant character in future trust. it's like uh...the cold killer Flowey mentioned in the end of ruins yeah! No correlation between those two, but trust! How that would serve Undertale's story and themes? Idk

If it works, it works! For low stakes games (performance wise), this is no problem at all. Undertale's dialogue was one. Ginormous. Switch case.

thinking lots of thoughts about chara lately... but i still can't settle on one design...... mmmmh.......... #chara #undertale

18. Deltarune - This one doesn't really need a recommendation but it *did* come out this year and I don't really see anyone talking about it, which is strange, so I wanted to include it.
Undertale's "sequel" (whatever you wanna call it). Chapters 1 & 2 are free while 3 & 4 are paid and brand new.
DELTARUNE on Steam
Dive into the parallel story to UNDERTALE! Fight or spare your way through action-packed battles as you explore a mysterious world alongside an endearing cast of new and familiar characters. Chapters ...

From my understanding, the fandom went fucking nuts after their years long hiatus (as well as some unsavory individuals doin' some shit; kinda like went down with Undertale's fandom)

Also, the comic itself is insanely long, like, one of the longest pieces of media, while being kinda complicated

TRUUUE it's cool looking back on game locs and seeing the choices they made. love stuff like legends of localization, the deep dive into undertale's loc is really fascinating as well

LOL true. i've played a politically dense jrpg out of sheer will but comfort zone feels better for immersion-

In an alternate universe, undertale's asriel is named togore and ralsei is named terogo.

Certainly, yes. My point is not that Undertale's graphics are a weak spot in an otherwise good game but that they serve as fertile soil for other elements to build up on. Undertale looks good, and the graphics being simple and understated is an intentional and well-executed choice.

42. Undertale (2015).

... Remember when a YouTuber gave a copy of the game to the freaking Pope? I suspect Undertale's cultural footprint will be the subject of ongoing study, in all its peculiarities.

... God, I need to play Deltarune.

What do you fucking mean someone has recreated Undertale's mechanics in SRPG studio
December 12, 2025 at 6:15 PM
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees this. There is no telling me that Toby Fox didn’t take at least SOME inspiration from old video game creepypastas when making Deltarune’s Weird Route and Undertale’s No Mercy route.

Oh, like Undertale's Genocide run?
December 12, 2025 at 4:35 AM
I was a sans fangirl way back in the first few years of Undertale's release. Not a very loud one, but I was there.
Soon after came Alastor... I have a type and it's Tumblr sexymen, apparently 💔

I can now say I successfully beat Undertale's pacifist route. Fuck off genocide route I'm keeping it happy here

Went all the way back to azzy and then to the surface. I kinda stopped playing when I beat the boss-

The theme of Undertale's Suicide Run, basically.

(But fr, what's up, Alex?)
December 9, 2025 at 1:48 AM
the genocide run is surprisingly similar to a bad future run. you are just blasting through the game, not caring about any of the world and characters. you just want to see what happens. difference being undertale's will always be intentional by the player whereas cd's bad ending can be accidental.

Undertale's unused main theme is better than the main theme we got in the game, but I'm still happy both exist-
