On 16 October 2025, Israeli soldiers raided the West Bank village of a-Rihiya south of Hebron and began firing in the air. Children playing soccer in a nearby school were terrified and scattered. Among them was Muhammad al-Hallaq, 9, who fled to the street. Footage shows Muhammad standing quietly at a distance from the soldiers, and moments later one of them fires a single shot that hits him. Eyewitnesses told @haaretzcom reporter Gideon Levy that the soldier then raised his arms in celebration. When residents went to help the injured child, soldiers fired tear gas at them, delaying his evacuation to the hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival. The nine-year-old boy was unarmed and posed no threat to the soldiers. He was shot and killed as part of Israel’s routine lethal violence against Palestinians in all areas under its control, which is carried out with full impunity.Read Gideon Levy’s report in the link in our bio.View all 1,176 comments
