No one is saying the Soviet Union was perfect. Stalin was an asshole, but he's nothing compared to what Churchill and Hitler wanted to do. The USSR similarly was nothing compared to what the US and UK have, and still are, doing.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that the us is anywhere near good, or okay, or even that any aspect of it is good, just that the USSR wasn't all that better, or even good at all either, I still hate capitalism, I still think people should live and thrive regardless of what they do

The produce section in Publix used to be an example of American abundance, fruits and vegetables would fill the bins, several layers deep. Now they are empty or half full. A few weeks ago, they had no potatoes. It looks like the pictures of USSR stores used to scare GenX about communism .
