Twitterthink vs Bluesky 🦋

1️⃣ You control your algorithm

2️⃣ You can have more than one algorithm, each feed has an algorithm

3️⃣ You can say what you like, but nobody has to listen, unless they want to. Users control their content, they also do their own moderation.

Think about it, did you find me because you were looking for me, or did you find me because I created content that everyone on Bluesky needs:

-Advice
-Content
-I help people, and ‘Bluesky help’ is the first thing everyone looks for.

Salty Dog Fella says "beware of twitterthink" and has also some hints beyond beginners' issues about how generally getting a better reach on Bluesky (haven't tried it out, but I also had been lazy on Xitter, with a much worse reach there than here).

Hope that helps on the long run!
And beware of ‘Twitterthink’

What works on Twitter doesn’t always work here.

If you post about one thing, or only one or two posts a day, people will not find you easily.

Post five times a day, chain your posts together.

"The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less)" ― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, 1995

A word of caution, about ‘Twitterthink’

🦋 Bluesky doesn’t work like twitter, nobody gets anything unless they look for it, or they ask for it.

‘The algorithm’ doesn’t have power here, I control my algorithm, you can’t give me anything I don’t want.
