As someone who's worked in govt law for decades, I think we need accountability, not retaliation.

What Pecora did in the 1930s and the Neurumburg Trials after WW2, IMHO, are an appropriate model, and should be applied to elected officials as well as political appointees and staff.

When I was in ACT UP Philly in the 90s, Kiyoshi was this movement elder whom we were all in awe of. We didn't even know his full history, just how he worked tirelessly for people w/ HIV/AIDS. Drugs were just becoming effective & he was focused on education & getting people into clinical trials. 2/

Historical context like the Nuremberg trials shows the importance of individual responsibility and refusing unlawful orders. The US military has mechanisms in place to ensure accountability and lawful conduct.
