We sampled the soil extensively. I left some bread. Nobody disappeared so hopefully that means it worked
The Ring viewed from 110 feet up or so. It is the green grass and I'm pretty wide angled photo with an apple tree at the bottom. A vole path going under Agaricus shrooms Wider view where you can see inside the ring is lush and green and outside the ring has a lot of standing dead plant material. The trail left by rodents is much more clear here

Had the afternoon off Wed for my mandatory flu vax for work. I was out of fresh pics, so I stopped a few places in town. It was a beautiful day and a Ring-billed Gull was fishing at the pond. He was tiring to watch....up and down the whole time I was there. Goldfish were on the menu.

This leaf was so bright I thought it was trash. I had a sad moment when I saw it was torn, but then I realized it's missing the same finger as me. I think I will also be bright today.

(And if people think I'm trash, oh well. 😅)

for lyra, i associate her mainly with trees, especially the silver fir (Abies alba). the solidity and centeredness of a tree and the way it's deeply interconnected with the wood around it is perfect for her, plus she's rather winter-themed so a fir fits well.

My response, Yes, Vikings we before Columbus and they were is far east Canada. Vikings were in Canada around 1021 CE, according to a 2021 study that used tree-ring dating from artifacts at the L'Anse aux Meadows site in Newfoundland.
