"the trajectory is really really really good if you look at it." 🤔

The status quo delivered us to this moment of fascist acceleration. As Democratic elites in Washington keep proving, they have nothing to offer but behavior that abets and fosters more of the same. Their trajectory is as fixed as the right's.

Although we're not where we should be, we're on a significantly better trajectory than we were 10 years ago.
10 Years After the Paris Climate Agreement, Here's Where We Are (Gift Article)
Has anything really changed in the decade since the Paris Agreement was reached? Actually, quite a lot.

The alleged "tone shift" is such a tell, because it's not that he's saying anything different than he campaigned on, it's that he's diverged from the expected trajectory of "make a bunch of promises in your campaign and then back off immediately once elected."

On the topic of speech-to-text: Norway's national broadcaster NRK is cutting pay for subtitlers bc they're replacing manual translation w/ machine outputs

Absolutely inevitable trajectory: results that get worse and worse and worse as companies have to exponentially enshittify with worsening slop
NRK kutter i honoraret til tekstere – skal bruke mer KI
NRK skal effektivisere tekstingen ved hjelp av kunstig intelligens (KI). For teksterne betyr det et heftig kutt i honorarene.

A super typhoon is making landfall tonight. People are bracing for the worst, and a million people have already evacuated. Please keep the Philippines in your thoughts.

Premature birth remains the nation’s second-leading cause of infant death. Artificial wombs promise to change that trajectory.
This machine could keep a baby alive outside the womb. How will the world decide to use it?

The entire reason the DSA has an "annoying losers" problem is because of the DNC blackballing and sabotaging progressive politics, so there is (until very recently) little centralized power, structure, stability, or career trajectory.

Meaning that you get lots of well-meaning, passionate members...
I will though I could not stand the people I met at the local DSA meeting and fled never to return. But it’s fine! I still want them to take over. I vote for them whenever I can. If more people join the DSA this people problem they have will probably resolve.

MTG’s trajectory is so funny. May all antisemitic conspiracy theorists follow that path toward human rights advocacy and away from fascism and white supremacy. May we see more go so far to the right, they rationalize themselves out of it for good.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says online Islamophobia seems to come mostly from paid campaigns on X, highlighting a company called ‘Influensible,’ owned by Brad Parscale—former Trump campaign manager and registered foreign agent for Israel—that she believes runs thousands of coordinated accounts...

COP30 boss: "Rich countries have lost enthusiasm for tackling climate crisis" and praises China.

Chinese renewables are great, but you have to be disconnected from reality to miss the wrenching change EU in particular has signed up to & China's CO2 trajectory.

The past 30 years, I always called my Grandpa Don on Nov 10 to wish him a happy USMC birthday. He grew up without running water, and enlisting in the Marines, and then returning after college as an officer, dramatically changed the trajectory of his life. He died in Sept at age 96. Miss you, Marine.

Duffield has been on the anti-phone grift for a while, presumably because that's where the right wing trajectory is set so that's where her handlers want her. To use Brianna's name though, that's another level.
When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

Joni Ernst has had the same trajectory. She is a sexual assault victim and then is fine with Hegseth and his a-little-rape-is-fine US military policies.

It'll take time to fully execute, but they're setting most of us for subsistence in a company town and prison labor.

If things continue at our current trajectory we will fondly recall the exploitive gig economy.
