Having read the paper (not thew article below but the actual paper), I would rather write: Physicists Take the Imaginary Numbers Out of Quantum Mechanics and Replace Them with 2x2 Matrices and Tensor Products Imitating Complex Numbers.
And I find that aweless (hat tip @zachweinersmith.bsky.social)
And I find that aweless (hat tip @zachweinersmith.bsky.social)
For the first time, physicists have formulated quantum theory without imaginary numbers, overturning a 2021 claim that these unreal numbers are essential for describing the quantum world.

Physicists Take the Imaginary Numbers Out of Quantum Mechanics | Quanta Magazine
Quantum mechanics has at last been formulated exclusively with real numbers, bringing a mathematical puzzle at the heart of the theory into a new era of inquiry.

the tensor product is extremely trivial to define. since it is only characterized up to isomorphism, and since any two vector spaces of the same dimension are isomorphic, the tensor product of V and W is any vector space of dimension dim(V)×dim(W)
Research proposal: give me 3m € and 10y to understand wtf tensor products are so hard to define and yet behave so neatly. Like why isn't there a simpler construction, and how come this unwieldy construction produce this... this... jewel?

the tensor product is that moment right before you go on stage. the moment you realize you're in love. its being snowed in when you have nowhere to be.

I guess you could think of this muscle like the Tesnor Fasciae Latae on the leg.
Except this time, these muscle strands appear under the prominent muscle groups of the forearm.
They extend towards the fingers dont they? Like the Tensor and that other muscle strand that extend to the knee

would be nice to have a piece of software just for taking arbitrary tensor data and mapping it to CxWxH w/ color curves &c. instead of having to map it in code somehow, usually losing a lot of information, then adjust w/ an image editor

The key point is that, as asked by @uberwensch.bsky.social, the result doesn’t depend on the choice of coordinates. I am always fascinated by teaching tensor products, where you balance the concrete description with the universal property that guarantees a very strong uniqueness.
