Toilette ist てあらい (tearai) auf Japanisch. 💩

Im Lehrbuch steht, daß "zum Verschönern der Sprache", u.a. wenn es um Unappetitliches oder Unangenehmes geht, Substantiven ein お (o) vorangestellt werden kann:

All of the differences were curious. "O-Tearai" in Tokyo... then suddenly "Keshôshitsu" in Osaka. Makeup-Rooms for girls and boys. :D

Lol, you're right! 😳 I read tetsudai out loud in my head as tearai. Well, one less thing to worry about on the AI front, sorry!

And a better end of life experience...but our research shows that this type of continuity of care is a thing of the past for the vast majority, with many people struggling to see a GP at all in the last year of life, let alone one they know. #TeĀrai
“Patients who have the same GP for 15 years have 20% lower mortality than those who have been with a GP for <1 year”

Makes you think!

Continuity of care is important

I'm still on a high after a wonderful day yesterday, with the Te Ārai Research Group. A great opportunity to re-connect, meet new members, look back at what has been achieved & prioritise our work ahead.

Clinicians agree that noisy, crowded, impersonal emergency departments aren't ideal #eolc settings, but many patients with palliative care needs also need emergency care. Read about research exploring patient & family perspectives. #HAPC #EMSky #AcademicSky #EmergencyCare #TeĀrai #ProudSupervisor

This is such a beautiful film - amazing work. And real resonance with our approach in the #TeĀrai research group #hapc
Not everyone receives equitable access to #palliativecare or has the opportunity to think about their future care wishes

Discover how the approach is helping us to listen & understand barriers that people underserved by palliative care & wider healthcare systems experience

I also learned that Japanese schoolchildren are taught to perform a gargle (ugai) along with washing their hands (tearai) as part of their normal hygiene ritual but there's not much evidence that it's effective: lucky-japan.blogspot.com/2014/11/ugai...

Just found #DuvetKnowItsChristmas and ❤️ - as I'm in Aotearoa I've donated to Te Tāpui Atawhai/Auckland City Mission, amazing #TeĀrai research partner (all donations currently matched). #MeriKirimete
It’s time! After 23 years of marriage, the in-laws are still putting us in the Peach Room of Doom, with the Formica Stool of Chastity, and new for this year, an ironing board for a splash of colour. #DuvetKnowItsChristmas #XmasAtTheInlaws and donate to Centrepoint via @rhodri.biz
