Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still more/better offerings to English speakers than Spanish speakers (at least according to the signage) at Tire Town, Kingdom Tires, and Advance Auto Parts.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still a @police.takomaparkmd.gov "Police Community Network Center" in the 7-Eleven in upscale ward 2; none in the other two stores in the city (both in ward 6).

Fix: remove the network center.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still no
@takomaparkmd.gov marker at Heffner Park telling of this historically Black neighborhood and the city's protested actions in it. (The council decided against renaming the park; it no longer funds a marker in the budget.)

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still no renaming of @takomaparkmd.gov Jackson-Boyd Park to end this honoring of the racist Confederacy.

#TakomaPark claim: it's a bad idea for @mdsha.bsky.social to use the same pavement symbol for both a separate (alas, unprotected) bike lane and a lane shared by bikes and motor vehicles.

New (to this list) #TakomaPark check: missing @takomaparkmd.gov street name signs at Carroll Avenue and Boyd Avenue. Per Street View, they were in place in 2022.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still @takomaparkmd.gov equity walks in the city (in images, on Philadelphia Avenue); the walks used QR codes; they could only be taken by folks with mobile devices and service; they were inherently inequitable.

And…the QR codes no longer work.

Fix: remove the walks.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still no @takomaparkmd.gov historic marker(s) on Lee Avenue offering excuses for why we continue to honor racist Confederates with streets named after them.

Now: remove the Lee signs.

Next: install "Mister Lee Ave" signs.
