Someone contacted me after CHM13 came out claiming that our assembly must be contaminated by Fetal Bovine Serum because they found cow DNA in it ... I had to break it to them that it was their cow sequences that were contaminated with human. DB contamination is an insidious problem. T2T genomes help

Congratulations! I wanted to mention that there has been previous research on SST1/NBL2 prior T2T that might be relevant. For example, their localization to the short arms of acrocentric chromosomes and transcription upon hypomethylation (doi.org/10.1093/nar/gky263), along with some earlier work.

Our software ULTRA, for finding/masking tandem repeats in genomic sequence, has been out in beta form for a while (and was used in the human T2T analysis). Now the 1.0 version is out with extra features. Greater coverage w/ low false label rate, better repeat labeling, easy to use. bit.ly/4fesEHT
