It is always an honour to be part of the beautiful Remembrance Day ceremony in Old Strathcona.

Joining members of the South Alberta Light Horse Regiment, representatives from the Edmonton Police, Edmonton Firefighters & community members at Light Horse Park cenotaph is a cherished tradition.

Donald Smith, later Lord Strathcona, was selected to hammer in the last spike as he was the main financier behind the Canadian Pacific Railway syndicate. Major Rogers, who surveyed Rogers Pass, William Van Horne, and many engineers and workers are in the photo.

I could use transit more but I like to be outside. I walk almost everywhere, even in winter.
Because I've done it for years, I can carry 20 pounds of food in a backpack when I walk home from Old Strathcona market (45 minutes). Essentially, the fitness trend of rucking is also known as my life😀.

Today, I take my seat in the Legislature for the first time as the MLA for Edmonton-Strathcona and Leader of the Official Opposition.

Representing you in this chamber is an incredible honour of a lifetime and a responsibility that I’m deeply grateful for.

Thank you, Alberta.

Edmonton friends!

Does anybody want a strawberry plant to grow indoors over the winter?

Mine is putting out serious runners.

I could cut a few off and bring them to the Old Strathcona farmers market this weekend!

If only there was some way for this driver to have realized they had already gone the wrong way on a one way street (they went north on O'Connor at Strathcona). And then tried to continue the wrong way (north) at Pretoria.

Six years ago today, I was elected as the Member of Parliament for Edmonton Strathcona. It’s been the honour of a lifetime. 🧡

Three elections and so much support later, I’m proud to have grown New Democrat support in a sea of blue.

You are correct! The “Take Back Alberta” group is opaque and concerning. Big line in old strathcona!

I voted in Old Strathcona and I went around 1:30pm and was a few bocks away, walking at 2:30. It was a long enough wait to knit 3 rows on my sock, in the fastest moving line (of 3).

Made my noon statement erroneously when I compared my actual time.

So. I went at NOON and there was a line of about 50 people at my polling station. That's not NORMAL!

I do not understand why we need 3 separate ballots? (Mayor, councillor, and school board). That's not our usual system.

It's weird and consumes unnecessary time and paper.
In line 20 minutes at my regular poll. Someone who just voted said we are looking at 2 hours on the way out. I can’t tell if the new UCP rules are to dissuade us from voting, break the system so they can claim it needs privatization or just another example of their incompetence.
