Got it all connected. Had to use an OSSC because ps1 mode on ps2 turns makes the StarTech show a blank screen once it switches modes.
I do have controllers but decided to use a ps3/ps4 fightstick with a brook converter. I then use OBS to make it fullscreen on my main monitor.

TIL some of these SATA to IDE adapters on Amazon are trash and just do not work with old computers at all. Should have just spent the extra few dollars for the Startech one to begin with. 🙃

For audio files, it'll be both Deflemask export & real hardware. Problem is, the Genny & PC are in separate rooms kinda far.
So I have to disconnect from the TV, move it to the PC room, then Genny -> OSSC -> StarTech capture box -> PC
ngl miss when everything was near each other lol worth it tho

Esta chulisimooo. Definitivamente uno de los setups mas limpios q he visto y la vd q en un futuro me encantaria montarme uno asi. Y ojito el rack, esta flamisima. Ayer estuve montando tb uno de la marca StarTech en el laboratorio del trabajo

Finally I put everything together using a 1TB HDD, an Startech IDE2SATA adapter and a recently discovered Asus 80 wire IDE cable which fits quite perfectly. Tested the DVD drive with Starwars Battlefront (obviously), and considered the matters finished!

Jeez, another softmodded Xbox stopped working. Looking online it may be related to the Startech IDE2SATA adapters? That first one started to work again supposedly, but even adjusting the 80-pin cable didn't resolve anything. Seems like these Startech adapters just go bad, even without using them.

Based on some other online boards it sounds like kvm’s aren’t worth the hassle, especially if they’re going to fry components.
