#Slop
TV and radio stations provided two distinct services: content delivery and recommendations. Streaming has done a better job of the first and grabbed the market, but they do a very poor job of the second. With all this AI slop lowering the signal-to-noise ratio, it’s become much more important. (1/2)

The way Bylines embraced the use of AI slop to avoid paying artists and photographers, tho.

There are some other supposedly progressive outlets doing the same.

It's gross.

I've got plenty of backlog of actual video games to play. I don't need mass produced AI slop.
November 12, 2025 at 10:40 AM
Not the AI slop, Mark. 😢
November 12, 2025 at 10:39 AM
I mean, have you seen the slop they've been making lately?

Librarians told 404 Media they are being inundated with new pitches for AI library tech and catalogs are being flooded with AI slop books that they need to wade through. AI maximalism across society is supercharging the ideological war on libraries, schools, academics

November 12, 2025 at 10:28 AM
It looks like the same will happen to literature, film, painting, photography and all art.
We will drown in regurgitated, mediocre, because literally statistically average, AI-slop, because it’s cheaper & easier to make it.

100% human made will soon become a selling point when AI slop starts to flood the market
Hello, not only do we not use AI we would rather cut off our own arms than do so. Demonschool is 100% human made.

No AI slop, no mandatory cookie crap, no half-baked SEO articles, no video popovers — just good reviews of interesting games.

They're doing it right. I became a patron.

Learning that Nux Taku pivoted from "the most annoying clickbait reaction slop imaginable" to "full-bore right-wing Trumpist grifter" really is the biggest case of this I've ever experienced.

This the second artist this week I've seen exposed for scamming their customers with traced AI slop. If you weren't ashamed then you wouldn't be trying to hide it. And if you're ashamed then don't do it.

Most AAA is boring samey garbage anyway. If they want to forever ruin the reputation of the medium and folks who aren’t slop slurpers move on to smaller, better art, then so be it.

A week never goes by without #Spotify appearing more rotten.

Your algorithmic, ostensibly listening-based recommendations include paid ads in disguise.

This in addition to allegations of creating AI slop music, underpaying artists, AI war drone-gate, ICE ads-gate, etc. #BoycottSpotify

Also the web is basically one giant corporation at this point. I remember the early internet with so many cool and interesting things how search engines worked so much better than this AI slop & how even social media could be fun. Now it's all bot accounts reposting AI accounts on limited platforms
ok one last post -- oldheads are always going to "why is the web dying.... how can we get the kids invested in the free and open web"

bro the kids can't read. that's why the web is dying. first things first

Dwarf Fortress' procgen is heavily tied to very complex handmade systems that were crafted for 33 years (!!!). It needs the latter.

You could make a similar argument (if a bit neutered) for Minecraft, and its clones look sad when they don't have good systems to interact with the cube slop
