From a recent sketchbook page,
This one leaned into atmosphere and blur. Trying to say more by doing less. This is watercolor.

Tried drawing cats while watching a fun session by @londondrawinggroup + @emmacarlisle_. Some look like cats… others like seals or owls. Still, I had fun! Not every page is great, but that’s how we learn. Make the mess. Keep going. #embracethewonkiness #sketchbookpractice

Happy Friday!

I’m celebrating an early start of the weekend this afternoon by sipping coldbrew while drawing the view in sunny Amersfoort.

How will you celebrate the weekend?

One year of sketchbooks 💛

It all started with Nina Cosford's sketchbook and then I (almost) never stopped. (Not all of them are full obviously, but I often switch depending on what I want to draw, the format and paper thickness). 🌸

Days 10 and 11. Changed up my materials and used watercolor pencils and water brush on these two instead of my watercolor palette. #28daysofsunshine #artsky #artyear #watercolor #sketchbookpractice

Went for a little bike ride to Woodbine Beach! There was a volleyball tournament happening... Which suddenly ended and then there were hundreds of people walking at me. I packed up and scittered away.

🫣 I’m not a sketchbook person… or at least, I wasn’t.
But this year, I set a goal to try sketchbooking—and guess what?
✅ Officially checked off!

Happy Monday ✨

I’m not a big landscape person - I love seeing other peoples landscapes but I struggle to make and practice my own.

I’d really like that to change. So a goal of mine this year is to really lean into the landscape study and playing with color fields.

Hi (Few Old Sketches)

One of my “newer” notebooks—mostly empty, but I’m filling it up to challenge my perfectionist streak 😂

These are in realism, but I love experimenting across styles: Manhwa, anime, cartoons—you name it.

Sketching practice at the bowling alley while the kiddo plays. It has taken a lot for me to sketch in public without worrying about people seeing my work (esp if it's a bad drawing day) but I'm getting there slowly.

In September 2024, I traveled to Zurich as the starting point of a journey through Europe. Even on the plane, I was captivated by the aerial view of the Alps, which I’ve recreated here in my sketchbook using watercolor and oil pastel #Sketchbook #Sketch #SketchbookPractice #HumanArtist #Art

I don't know why, but trees felt super intimidating so I've avoided drawing them.

So drawing this today feels a bit like I've leveled up somehow 🥳
