One of the biggest phone providers here in Australia apparently just fucked up my nan-in-law's phone by wiping everything out of it... Her contacts, doctors appointments, reminders, everything...

I don't understand people that are correctly anti smart fridge but then get an alexa, or worried about spyware and data brokers but want a car with a simcard or connects to their cell network.

But that seems an incredibly wasteful way of doing it - surely all they need is the SIMcard from each phone and a system which can run hundreds/thousands of them simultaneously? Otherwise it's incredibly power-hungry.

Pelo menos voltou a esquentar um pouco nesse penúltimo dia do verão e o nosso roteador pra testar de a internet via cabo funciona nessa caraia finalmente chegou. Torçam por nós por que já são 2 meses usando internet provisória com dados via SIMcard e ela acaba na terça 🙏

Sim ! Eu até uso o app, mas conheço muito idoso, e vendedor de rua, ou pessoa com menos condições financeiras. Com celular velho/q só faz ligação usando mpesa pra receber pagamento, e pra pagar até conta de escola. Vc só precisa de SIMcard .
