Ruk Zan likes traditional folk music of his people, which has spun off into a bunch of different genres from drum driven dance music to more melodic pieces.

Zilq loves his shanties. His mom used to sing workman's shanties as a shift supervisor at the shipbreaking yards, which he knows by heart.
What music genre does your OC like best? 🎶

“The HKC has its critics 🚫, but those who support it must make it work 🤝. If it fails to protect workers 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ and the environment 🌱, it fails entirely 🔁,” says Walton Pantland, IndustriALL shipbuilding & shipbreaking director.
Six months after entry into force, the HKC still is not being implemented
Shipbreaking has often been described as the most dangerous job in the world and IndustriALL has long campaigned for the ratification of the Hong Kong Convention (HKC) as the most practical first step...

Most shadow vessels are very old, which makes death (ie scrapping) imminent.

In fact, shadow vessels are creating a whole new shadow shipbreaking sector - and huge dangers for the workers and the environment.

The emergence of the shadow shipbreaking market
The shadow fleet now has its own system for scrapping ships, and it’s even riskier than the official one.

Finally hitting the career end button and yeah this is an all-time fav. I really wish there would be more games with this set of mechanics/physics even if it's not just shipbreaking again.

🚢 New report from Sandbag, NGO Shipbreaking Platform & Università della Tuscia:

Europe is overlooking a key resource for clean steel — scrap from end-of-life ships.

Steel = 8–10% of global CO₂ emissions

But the EU faces a shortage of premium scrap — and one major source is being missed.

Again, China provides steel for our boats which are being custom built in Korea, whereas once upon a time we sent them boats to be scrapped. Now shipbuilding is up there and shipbreaking is in Bangladesh. Moving up the ladder of economic development
We offshored industry because it sucks shit and cuts off people's body parts routinely,, that's what the economic development is for
