Can't stop, won't stop. #SafeStreetsForAll
The stopgap bill to fund transportation that was passed in the Oregon Senate buys us time, but it does not buy us stability. We need to look ahead to 2026 and 2027 now, to when we’ll have legislative opportunities to pass a comprehensive transportation package and fund safety for all Oregonians.

This is amazing to see! I'd love to see more #tactical #urbanism projects pop up in neighborhoods in #portland that implement the quick builds and make our streets safer for pedestrians and cyclists!

Data, meet demonstrations. 🤝

Portland, Oregon's regional government, Oregon Metro, launched a new Safe Streets hub. The hub gives residents, advocates, and city leaders access to safety data across the region.

In 2024, I resolve to push back every single time someone uses the term #VRU, or #VulnerableRoadUser.

It's a transportation catchall for "humans not safely ensconsed inside a motor vehicle," and it's lazy, inaccurate, offensive, and counterproductive.

#CompleteStreets "The Commissioner may withhold grant funds from municipalities until the municipality submits such plan" - way to go munis that ignored the #SafeStreetsforAll grant. You can call this the f around and find out provision.

This is important @CCMAdvocacy - I know you ignored advocates requests to ask candidates last fall about how they would handle our growing traffic violence crisis. How are you counseling your municipalities? Do you talk about the #SafeStreetsforAll federal funding opportunities?...

🚲 Fewer kids bike than ever—& we’re losing more than a way to get around.
Biking builds independence, confidence & community.
What’s stopping them? 🚗💨 Unsafe streets, fast cars & poor infrastructure.

It’s time for #SafeStreetsForAll.

Today, we stood with deliveristas + cyclists in calling on the Police Commissioner & Mayor to end the harmful policy targeting cyclists & delivery workers. This isn’t safety—it’s criminalization.

We demand:
✅ Safe bike lanes
✅ Labor rights for deliveristas
✅ App accountability

The utter stupidity of allowing drivers to turn right on red lights is the hill I will die on. Probably literally.

It's time to stop risking pedestrian and bicyclist lives by trusting drivers to decide when it's safe to go.

This was such a great way to top off National #WeekWithoutDriving, being in community with all of you & demand #SafeStreetsForAll

So grateful to be in this work with @bikegridnow.org, Urban Environmentalists, & of course @teeghman.bsky.social who I’m so glad is still here fighting with us.
This weekend we showed out and built a massive display of protection for cyclists on Halsted. Biking on Halsted — and everywhere else in Chicago — should be this safe every single day.

You deserve better streets. #SafeStreetsForAll

Our hearts go out to the family of Xyaire Askew. No family should ever have to experience the loss of a child.

Xyaire deserved neighborhood streets that allowed him to experience joy and community in safety. We owe our children so much more. #SafeStreetsForAll
