The mottled camo on the BF109 is my first ever attempt at such camo style.
My airbrush is a general purpose Sparmax and isn't ideal for detailed work without masking. So the result is quite large mottling.

I think I use 18-20psi on my cheapo Sparmax 0,5mm (which I mostly use for priming). The trick is to apply very light coats and built it up slowly.

But a cheap-ass Chinese compressor would work fine as long as it has a decent tank
