Yeh mine complains big time when it starts getting too hot. I just ordered myself a nice new Sparmax compressor.

which country are you in? I quite like my Sparmax, and my Iwata Eclipse is great. If I was in the US I would be looking at Badger or Passche

Progress on both projects.

The mottled camo on the BF109 is my first ever attempt at such camo style.
My airbrush is a general purpose Sparmax and isn't ideal for detailed work without masking. So the result is quite large mottling.

I also use Vallejo metallics. Below I used Dull Alluminium. I really like their Dark Alluminium.
I think I use 18-20psi on my cheapo Sparmax 0,5mm (which I mostly use for priming). The trick is to apply very light coats and built it up slowly.

Progress on 2 FW190. The Eduard A8 getting paint, (cheap airbrush to the rescue after the Sparmax debacle), and the Revell D9 in mid assembly. I also have an Eduard FW190 D11 in a box. Will use the experience from these 2 when I do that build. #HistScaleModels

Right, who's a numptie? That would be me. Insert new nozzle into Sparmax, not spraying nicely, notice it seems to be protruding beyond nozzle cap, try to screw it in further, snap it off, irretrievably damage airbrush trying to get remains of nozzle out. #Crap #HistScaleModels

Big shout out to air-craft.net (UK), needed a replacement Sparmax airbrush needle. Ordered yesterday, arrived today. They always deliver top service. #HistScaleModels

I have the old Ultra and the new Evolution, I love both. They are easy to clean, and work flawlessly. Also have a Sparmax and Fengda, both good brushes for the money, but not in the same league as H&S. It takes a while to get used to using them and a good compressor really helps.

My cheap Chinese airbrush has become just too unreliable, so ordered a budget Taiwanese one in the shape of a Sparmax Max 3. Hopefully I'll soon be getting back to weathering my #modeltrains

I bought a Sparmax airbrush, seemed the right level for me as I wasn’t sure if airbrushing would be for me, but I didn’t want to be put off my something too shoddy either ⚖️

The Iwata are good I will also recommend Sparmax, use mine all the time. One thing I will say, is invest in a decent compressor, you will thank me for this. Airbrushes can be replaced or you can have one for large areas and another for detail stuff, but a reliable refulated airflow is critical.

personally quite like my sparmax TC-610H. used to have a smaller one without an airtank, but it quite sucked because of lack of said tank 😅

Sometimes a good airbrush cleanse can be a soul-cleanse.

Unfortunately not. Realistically looking at £50+ for a decent airbrush like the Sparmax - there are much cheaper 'all in one' sets that are marketed for nail art, with knock off copies of decent airbrushes, but it's a lottery whether you get one that works ok. graphicair.co.uk/product/spar...

Compressor/airbrush peeps are as rabid as the mac/pc ones so all I'll say is what I use:

Sparmax 20x airbrush, harder and steenbeck with various nozzle widths, with a sparmax sp620x compressor.

But a cheap-ass Chinese compressor would work fine as long as it has a decent tank
