Super Mario Land 2: Original vs Remake ✨

The stage is now fittingly spooky since it’s near the Pumpkin Zone!🌛
A bonus stage in Super Mario Land 2 in its original black and white palette. It doesn’t really match the Halloween theme of the location it’s next to. My interpretation of the bonus stage for the Super Mario Land 2 remake (SML2RDX). It now matches the theme of the nearby Zone with its spooky pumpkin gravestones, moody yet vibrant palette and a starry purple sky and reflective lake. There is a large crescent moon resting on the horizon, smiling. Fun fact: the moon is the next Zone Mario visits after beating the Pumpkin Zone!

May become an additional sprite artist for SML2RDX. Just getting my feet wet with trying to replicate the style, but my test may be drawing too much reference from the key art 🤷‍♂️
