Great idea if …. we had nationwide runoff voting. Since we don’t, we’d be creating a mess of split voting. We have a lot to fix to get us off a 2 party system. End Citizens United. End the Electoral College. Implement runoff voting. Term limits. End gerrymandering. Then we’d be safe for new parties.

So, I'm not convinced this is true. It's certainly not "Sweden's" - beet juice de-icer is used in much of the US and Canada. It's also not clear that it reduces runoff - at least one study found it increased pollution stress for insects (in general, dumping food waste in watercourses isn't great)

nope, just a snow-melt seasonal pond. runoff flows to the right towards Tuolumne Meadows as a feeder creek to the Dana Fork of the Tuolumne River. Lee Vining Creek starts out of Saddlebag Lake, passes through Ellery Lake then down the east side of the Sierras into Mono Lake
