The Reminiscence Bump is interesting.
The older you get, the stronger your memories of late teens/early 20's become versus such as "last year" and "this morning's breakfast" and "my entire 30's"
These memories are often the last to recede under Alzheimers.

The Reminiscence Bump is interesting.
The older you get, the stronger your memories of late teens/early 20's become versus such as "last year" and "this morning's breakfast" and "my entire 30's"

She and her partner are on their way to Hatton gardens to buy an engagement ring 💍 . They are originally from Bhopal, India and the fiancée gets up to join in the conversation. Companion of ukulele man joins in too. Lovely reminiscence of trips to India and nearby.

I suspect it’s a combination perhaps of these harrowing aspects genuinely bordering too stressful for me to engage with in most cases
And also a reminiscence of past relationships that quite frankly felt like one sided love on my part being met with emotional neglect.

I've read a fair amount of recent scholarship and journalism *about* YPO, but not heard directly from people who were involved firsthand. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not plugged into spaces where those folks are still active, or because they generally don't do much public reminiscence.
