#Refraction
Finished something a little softer this time 💅Soft Mirage.
Transparent tones, subtle refraction, and just a touch of glitter.
It's one of those designs that looks calm at first, but sparkles beautifully when the light moves.

To add upon the lovely prose Dave provides for CHRISTMAS EVE AT MILLER'S POINT below, I alert you it can now be owned on BluRay, to heartwarm or confound your own loved ones. And if you order the Limited Edition Slipcover, you'll even get cool refraction glasses!

Carrot is the most dangerous person in Discworld *by far* bc that force of character has a slight refraction of world view & suddenly your gentle giant is Watchmen’s Ozymandias.
Jingo is a truly outstanding Carrot book, between him convincing the armies to play football to him obliquely referencing his definitely not the heir to the throne status in getting Vimes elevated to Duke

deep down he thinks we're all nice chaps, and we wouldn't want to disappoint him

Yes and no. You can get better propagation and "bounce" Morse code on Aurora regions of the ionosphere but massive solar eruptions like the current one are so powerful that make ionospheric refraction of radio waves impossible. You observe Aurora by the disappearance of long distance radio contacts

Finally polished the first (largest here) tier of pavilion facets. Hit a few spots that had pitting in the material. Grinding those out meant nudging down neighboring facets and those neighboring facets to correct the minor depth changes 🫠 also I stubbornly didn't switch back to 8k for a while

Coherent Phonon Negative Refraction Achieved Via Interfacial Momentum Compensation For Thermal Management And Quantum Information
Scientists demonstrate negative refraction of heat-carrying vibrations in layered materials by carefully designing interfaces that redirect energy flow, potentially leading to more efficient thermal management and novel devices for manipulating heat at the atomic scale.

I love the Rainbow. Constraint Poetry

It’s just a rainbow.A symbol of beauty, not to misconstrue,Refraction and reflection, a spectacle divine, let it shine anew,a symbol of unity,in colors so true,A gift from the heavens, a sight so sublime.Hues of violet, red, orange, yellow, green, and blueI…

From the National Audubon Society's FB page: "The Hooded Merganser is a handsome diving duck with a taste for crustaceans, small fish, and aquatic insects. Their eyes are specially adapted to account for light refraction underwater, making them fearsome—but undeniably beautiful—hunters of crayfish."

Once this(left image) is done, it will be child's play to choose the right material to build a device that's analogous to refraction prisms; which can separate the individual frequencies(wavelengths) that are emitted from molecular bonds (like visible light is emitted from non-bonding electrons).

The Hooded Merganser is a handsome diving duck with a taste for crustaceans, small fish, and aquatic insects, which they hunt entirely by sight. Their eyes are specially adapted to account for light refraction underwater, making them fearsome—but undeniably beautiful—hunters of crayfish.
