#Reconyx
Is this deer still considered an unmarked individual if it has such a distinctive (and stylish) coiffure?

These are the top of the range Reconyx professional cameras borrowed from my lab but you can get much cheaper.

OTD in '19: another encounter on the beaver dam, this time midnight meeting of raccoon 🦝 + beaver 🦫. The young raccoon seemed a little surprised!

Hey camera trap peeps has anyone tried the new 4K Reconyx camera? I need some more cameras and I was wondering what the consensus is. 📷

4K is still only ~8 megapixels. You can get cams with 20 MP, though not from Reconyx. The 4K is higher resolution than the Hyperfire, and that would be appealing. I'm actually surprised Reconyx stays with low-res cams.

Has anyone used the new 4K Reconyx cameras yet? I'm curious how they perform.

You get what you pay for. In our research, we exclusively use Reconyx – though that may have to change with the tariffs. I personally have a Moultrie, and it's... almost useless. Slow detection, many false detections, set to shoot 3 images and often only shoots 1, etc.

We are using Reconyx trail cameras

Our camera traps often reveal surprises. Below is a partial view of a large Arctic hare group attracted by seeds. A helicopter pilot once told me he saw a group so large that 'the mountain seemed to move'. I believe it! Photo: Reconyx camera, Alert, Nunavut (Canada).🌿

Hello, would love to be included in the Camera traps Starter Pack (currently maintaining ca. 200 Reconyx camera traps in the Canadian Arctic). Thank you!

Not an upside down waterfall but the reflection of the waterfall that appeared on the perennial rockhole camera after a major rainfall event. Reconyx cameras can survive a short dunking-hopefully this is the case here #watarrkanationalpark #kingscanyon #centralaustralia

Do you think the deer made it?

Unbelievable. #Reconyx #wildlifecamera still operational despite being submerged for at least 6 consecutive days #wildoz

How is the Reconyx attached to the star picket?

We put a lot into security for our cams. Every cams in a Reconyx security box. Most all boxes are padlocked shut. All boxes & cams locked to things (trees, mostly) with cable locks. People still try to cover the lens but that's about it.

Honestly Reconyx are the gold standard mostly because they will repair any model no matter for about $30-$60. But I haven't bought anything new for a while. For what it's worth Bushnell seems to have less false triggers in such an environment

I cameratrap for the Smithsonian. We use Reconyx cameras, but they can be pricey. Whatever you choose I recommend three things: 1)secure it with a bike cable/lock. I've had them "stolen" by animals when I just use a bungee to anchor them. 2)mount at shin height for the most animals and 1/2

2/9 Developing standardised methods for efficient & cost-effective data collection at large scale is important for understanding species' decline.

Remote camera networks might offer a solution, but manually analysing images & extracting biologically meaningful data takes time. 📸

Does anyone have recommendations for the best camera traps for filming video with high quality seals for coastal, tropical environments? Reconyx is no longer making the Ultrafire. @WILDLABSNET
