The revealing is done using a secondary shader on the material I assigned to the RawImage. In script I lerp the value to 0 if you move, and if you hold still slowly towards 1.

I think I've fixed that graphical glitch with the left-split. It was due to a combination of RawImage being sorted wrong on the canvas, inducing ZFight on the screen, & Camera clear mode not being opaque
