#QueenslandRail introduced #Narrow gauge (1067mm) in 1865 as it would be “cheaper, faster & have tighter curves”.
This was the first #NarrowGauge main line in the world.

In 2020 Qld had 8,146 kms of narrow gauge track.

This G-Casemate next to the railwaytrack Utrecht-Arnhem covered the highway A12 used to be pretty invisible, luckily the trees and shrubs around it were cleared due to works. The area where this one was built is littered with fortifications: Forts and pillboxes made in WW1 and WW2.
