A lot about it that isn't good... not that matters, nobody will be buying one any time soon. #PaperLaunch #RTXOff #Nvidia #RTX5080 #RTX5090

Nice project by David Peicho, using #rustlang, #webgpu and software ray tracing (using #tinybvh - #RTXoff!). Cool stuff with an exciting roadmap.
First post here!

Continuing my journey on my #rustlang #webgpu pathracing library, fully GPU software, i.e., no RTX.

TLAS + Texture atlas performance are slowing down the pathtracing quite a bit. Will need to focus on that after I get rid of more noise

TinyBVH has been updated to 1.2.5 on main. New:
TLAS/BLAS construction and traversal, for single and double precision BVHs, and including a brand new GPU demo: See the attached real-time footage, captured at 1280x720 on an NVIDIA 2070 laptop GPU.

Tiny Glade is... One massive box of #RTXOff ray tracing trickery. Amazing presentation.

tiny_bvh.h version 0.7.0 is out:
github.com/jbikker/tiny...
This version adds CWBVH construction (and, for testing only, slow CPU-traversal of the data). CWBVH is the state-of-the-art algorithm for #RTXOff ray tracing on the GPU; it stores data for 8 nodes in just 80 bytes.

In case this is relevant to anyone: Here's the full source code (~500 lines) for a sub-pixel / sub-texel accurate FATMAP2.TXT software rasterizer capable of rendering large scenes in real-time:

It is also available as a 'rendercore' in Lighthouse 2. #RTXOff

Advanced Graphics @ Utrecht University started yesterday! Lovely group of students. :) In this course we cover light transport, acceleration structures (#RTXOff!), probability theory and recent advances in filtering & sampling. This year I'm teaching with Dr. Peter Vangorp. Looking forward to it!
