#RStudio
Not an actual computer perso (fell into it backwards with RStudio and bioinformatics scripting), but are you trying to export data or the suite of dependencies used to run a program?

Authors published a paper in Biorxiv, they used RStudio in the study. Including #RRIDs will make this less ambiguous.

SciScore made a table with this resource, see “Automated Services” module (download as csv, xml or #jats) #reproducibility #OpenScience

File navigation in Positron is so much smoother than in RStudio—no more constant clicking around.

That’s just one reason Positron feels like a big step forward. I made a video breaking down the main pros and cons. Check it out and let me know if you’ll be switching.

We’ve just added some of your most requested features to @posit.co Connect Cloud ⛅

1. Deploy programmatically from RStudio with rsconnect
2. Set fine-grained Compute and Runtime settings
3. Schedule automated content republishing (paid plans only)

What else do you want to see support for?

Interesting,.. I never knew one could get an error from #reticulate #Rstudio

Many moons ago I had to do something with Python which is quite foreign to me, and I did the thing within RStudio. Nothing worked, and I never touched Python code again. Now it seems like it might be a possibility to try again with this Positron thing.

bsky.app/profile/jont...

It's specifically `.bsky` (with a period) so it won't show up in my Environment panel in RStudio (nor session variables in Positron, evidently, yay!) and generally stays out of the way.

keyring::key_set("BSKY_APP_PASS")
.bsky <- function(text, ..., user = "jonthegeek.com", key = "BSKY_APP_PASS") {

}

Slick!

On another note, we use the same themes for RStudio & Positron lol

This is in a branch named "encounters" of a package I'm working on.
November 8, 2025 at 2:36 PM
This is how I learned that Rstudio shows the current branch in the title bar. Doh!

I have this in my .Rprofile to show branch & time in console on RStudio & Positron:
```r
prompt::set_prompt(
function(...) {
paste0("[", prompt::git_branch(), " ", format(Sys.time(), "%T"), "] > ")
}
)
```

So, from RStudio to Positron. Keybinding is the answer for this. I guess.

For me, ggview's most useful space is when I am developing a figure in RStudio with a lot of tweaking, and that figure is eventually going to go into a specific dimension output. So I don't need to be writing out and refreshing the figure to be checking annotations etc as I create them.

My keynote about data science tools at posit::conf is now online! I originally meant it to be a talk about Positron, but as I was writing it, it took a left turn through the history of RStudio and into the philosophy of tool design & how to build stuff for people.
