By abusing the heck out of shader logic, you can do some funny things.
To run linux in a shader, you first need a (simulated) CPU.
Of course, someone took it to the logical extreme; and emulated RISC-V logic in HLSL.

the reason for this seems to be, that a lot of time is spent effectively single-threaded in guile ("guild compile"). RISC-V cores' single-thread performance doesn't tend to be their strongest point

Win95's taskbar does neither. It shows *windows* & in the main area shows *nothing else.* It didn't show the app name unless the app does itself. There's no button for the abstruse notion of "an open app".
This is a very important conceptual difference that the "but RISC OS" folks are missing.

Interesting that having to emulate paging via softmmu and 80-bit x87 floats are what kills copy.sh/v86 wasm-based JIT performance. I wonder how fast you could go with MMU-less RISC-V Linux? Could be nice for non-jailbroken iOS.

Gotta take the low lows in order to take the high highs.
Here's a quick update to show that everyone's help made a difference!
• I finished up Genesis Black and gained the respect to be involved past FGC related things. Gonna wrap up RISC this weekend, and then go all in on Genesis X3 and FitS.

- Motorola 68000 (1979-1994)
