The new university is expected to open by 2030. It will serve approximately 100 students and have 80 staff members.

Five other communities will now be considered to host regional knowledge centres or satellite campuses: Inuvik, Iqaluit and Cambridge Bay and Kuujjuaq and Puvirnituq.

For six years, Juani Qinuajuak has been delivering water to homes in Puvirnituq by truck...when he can. Often workers like him in Nunavik are forced to work in difficult conditions, such as extreme weather and infrastructure breakdowns.

Lucy Qalingo is the mayor of Puvirnituq, an Inuit village of 2,200 in Nunavik that has been experiencing water infrastructure issues that sometimes leaves residents without running water for weeks at a time.
