if you can guess where this is going, congratulations, you're probably correct! and i've got a fully operational prototype to show you

i think it's pretty much settled that i have to learn puredata/plugdata now

#reaper is great though you would still need extra plugins. and #puredata is of course not that comfortable and in a way limited. so either you go open source and let the software decide what kind of art you do or you decide it and cooperate with capitalism, which would happen either way 🤣

Updating my midi suite in puredata to account for some new hardware (the Korg Wavestate). Added more channels to the arpeggiator, along with per-channel velocity control and an out toggle.. Now checking through the step sequencer to see how many changes it needs, 1 so far.

i feel like vsts used to be a lot more innovative back in the day and now a lot of the "bizare experementation" ends up as max4live or puredata patches which limits who can use them. that or they become eurorack modules where its like this is cool but it didnt really need to be hardware

A question for those who use #PureData:

Why doesn't a".wav" file play, even though the audio file extension is written correctly and saved to the PD file folder?

On a (un)related note, can someone who doesn't code learn to make music with PureData? And is there a PureData for dummies style tutorial?

I think there were like four waveforms you could pick from, sine, square, saw, and noise. I did all the sound generation logic in pureData.

Same here to some degree. I've fallen down the puredata/plugdata rabbit hole as of late

Anyone have a recommendation for a midi hub??!

I'm looking to send multiple channels of midi from my puredata/computer/instrument to at least 3 different devices.

Due to my dyscalculia I can't code very well (if at all) - I can read it though and I can understand what it can and cannot do. So I usually use Visual Coding (Touch-designer, PureData, vvvv, UVS, blueprint) and it usually serves me right.
I gave Gemini (inside VScode) a try on my latest project..
