#PunAndPaper is tantalizingly close to finished. I have remaining only some sixty spells to write

(I would have 50, but yesterday I took a little old man nap, tell no one)

I'm just under 75,000 words, trying to keep it between 80k-100k - not out to write a great novel, just a fun game #OSR

Polished off the Cognitive Aspect spells - emotion and memory. As with every magic system I've seen, the mesmer is a *very dangerous individual*

Next is chaos magic, the Discordant Aspect, which I've given a renegade philosopher theme.

Focusing on #PunAndPaper over the weekend yielded good results, and the Photonic and Mechanic spells are written.

I'm in Spatial magic now - time and space. Chronomancy is always the most system-breaking facet of magic, so we'll see if I can navigate it with skill and grace.

Took a little time to write up some magic Talismans for #PunAndPaper today.

Yes, the ability to shove marble statues or entire armies worth of people into your trousers is WILD. Don't come at me with that "game breaking" nonsense, Pun and Paper is about japes and capers. And dresses with pockets.

Gravitic Aspect spells are written, which marks the midpoint of the spell list for #PunAndPaper.

No unrealistic estimate, but all that needs to happen for the game to be playable is:

-The remaining 225 spells

-Gear List: Armor, Traps, Talismans, Tonics

-Clout & Retinue, the reputation resources

I built a system like this into #PunAndPaper, with results based on degree of success or failure if a caster bites off a spell too big to chew, like Mismagic, Witchwither, Wizfizzle, Spellbind, and Catastrocast. Unpredictable spellcasting is more fun.

in the time I've been developing #PunAndPaper I've never contacted the author of Old School Hack, the Creative Commons rpg title on which a few of the concepts in my game are based

this seems like a terrible oversight, now. each time I thought to inquire, I said "he's busy, let's not bother him"

I seem to have made some very excellent progress at a very irresponsible hour with the Trivirate magic system of #PunAndPaper.

I'm entering the final stages - the magic system nearly done and the inventory pared down to essentials and folded in, the system will be playable. Whew.
