Here's a phone pic through the window of 4 of the 12 Cardinals at my front feeders now, amazing. So colourful on the snow. #Birds #ProjectFeederWatch.

There were lots of reports of Broad-winged Hawks flying over Chicagoland yesterday. This morning an adult Broad-winged Hawk landed on our back fence, then flew to an alley wire. The hawk was not a first for our backyard, but it was a first for a #ProjectFeederWatch day at our count site.

Sharpie in the hood! 🪶

This bird has been drawn to the feeders to the great dismay all other yard birds both large and small.

I could not be happier to welcome back all the glorious blackbirds!

Grackles have a pretty bad rep — they’re big, they’re noisy, they chase off smaller species, but dang they are fun to watch.

There has been high drama at the feeders since their return! 🪶

As a twenty-year #ProjectFeederWatch participant and supporter of #BirdsCanada, the importance of helping our feathered friends has never been greater, especially with bird flu popping up everywhere.

Yesterday was warm, the #moon was rising mid-day, purple deadnettle and hairy bittercress were blooming, house finches were on the feeder, daffodils were sprouting - what a great day! ☀️🌓🐦🌱😍 #Wildflowers #Birds #MyYardMyBirds #Nature #ProjectFeederwatch #NaturePhotography

My feeders have been pretty quiet this winter. The best days are when big flocks of American Goldfinches pay a visit #ProjectFeederWatch

#ProjectFeederWatch, and am working on getting my town certified as an EFTA Bird City. Birds are really good for stress!

The doctor demanded I get some rest. So, I found the only activity beyond napping and TV that I find comfort in... watching nature. At least I can gather data for #projectfeederwatch.

This Downy Woodpecker took a while to locate the suit. Of course, my squirrels are always checking up on me.

Today she returned with 31 of her best chums to forage during WS #Blair! The small group kept to themselves amidst the busy feeders, shared their food & were almost tame. Excited to record them as part of #ProjectFeederWatch day 2 as well. 🪶

Winter wonderland...with grackles. I'd write a poem about it, but I'm on a tight deadline with my novel. #5amwritersclub #WritingCommunity #birds #ProjectFeederwatch #backyardbirds

This has been an incredibly rewarding process for me, from learning about plants for BIRDS, rather than just insects or biodiversity. I sit outside every morning with a cup of tea and listen and watch. I joined #ProjectFeederWatch. I love these little guys so much. I will only plant MORE for them. ❤️

Its a #ProjectFeederWatch day and i have not had my coffee yet. The brain is just not quick enough at the moment to handle this large mixed flock.
The cats are delighted though!
