Deeply grateful to all who have sent well wishes and prayers since hearing about Mom’s hospitalization—and to all of the medical professionals taking good care of her.

Absolutely fuck these people. Politicians overruling medical professionals is a shit position.
NZ First are actually evil. They don't care how many lives they may ruin to get the anti-trans vote.

Stephen Miller is scared because Democrats are calling on U.S. military service members and intelligence professionals to honor their oaths to the Constitution.

Miller knows they can’t do that and enforce Trump’s unconstitutional agenda - which Miller himself has shaped.

The Epstein case is a really important illustration of why erotic professionals deserve full legal rights and workplace protections.

Epstein and his clients were able to victimize so many girls and women because the victims risked imprisonment if they told police about his crimes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: normal adults (who aren't pediatric medical professionals) don't spend ANY amount of time thinking about the genitals of children.

They certainly don't bend over backwards to make policing children's genitals part of their job.

This obsession is creepy.

The professionals who surrounded Jeffrey Epstein defended and deflected, coached and countermessaged, burnished and polished. Together, they helped extend Epstein’s influence and freedom, even lending an air of invincibility.

They should do a YouTube where every piece of content is carefully considered for publication and produced by a team of skilled professionals represented by labor unions, and the titles & thumbnails are designed & marketed in a variety of styles, depending on genre & target audience.

If there was no correlation between where people wanted to live and where housing prices were skyrocketing, this would be a compelling argument. Unfortunately, housing prices are going up everywhere where young mobile professionals want to live bsky.app/profile/whst...
“If you cherry-pick places where housing prices are high, housing prices are high”

This is transparently bad data practice. Yes, there are places where housing is more expensive than average. There are also places more affordable than average. About half, in fact. So what?
Will, my guy, you *gotta* look at city areas as opposed to the country as a whole, we’re a nation of urban islands surrounded by oceans of real estate, and the cities are where basically all economic value is generated.

A good piece here--the Administration really is waging a war not just on professionals but on the concept of professionalism itself.
The War on Professionalism and Professional Competence
Incompetence and sloppiness are the self-conscious ethos of the administration.

You get the sense listening to firefighters and code professionals that most multifamily buildings in America are built in rural areas with volunteer fire departments that rely entirely on ground ladders. I think it reflects where a lot of them live more than the reality of multifamily construction.
I love how the firefighters union, when confronted with data about the safety of single stair, argue “Well New York and Seattle have good firefighters, unlike here in California where we suck ass at our jobs”

The transfer of budget dollars from blue collar workers (bus drivers), who directly provide a service, to white collar professionals (transit safety czars), who narrate slide decks at council meetings, is a problem that needs to be reversed.
The council is set to raid the transit funding again tomorrow to pay for Rob Saka's transit safety czar proposal.
