Some more Stranger Things rewatch thoughts. Obviously the first season is one of the best things Netflix has done and a truly lovely bit of TV but I think the second season is hugely underrated in how it manages to make the multiple plotlines separate, but not in a contrived way.

You can cut the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion plotlines completely. Not everyone needs an origin story!

I truly don’t understand people who are like “I can’t give up this media, it’s meaningful to me.” I’ve dropped franchises I’ve loved, adored, poured time and money into, made copious fan works for, etc, over mere plotlines I didn’t like. If a creator has heinous politics, I’m gone lol.

oh I love all the plotlines converging
even worse... with possible US involvement

I haven't gotten to the Leia section yet, which will finally bear us back to the eponymous Black Fleet Crisis (and which also suggests a flaw in this structure. Lando and Luke's plotlines have *very* little to do with the Crisis until the very end of Book 3).

Okay so Order of the stick is a D&D webcomic that runs the gauntlet between extremely lighthearted and very sad.

Nevermore, gothic lesbians attending a school in the afterlife.

Girl Genius - Pulp style steampunk in a world where mad scientist rule. Plotlines planned decades ahead of time.

I think it’s a shining example of the Star Wars universe space there is to play in when you turn your focus away from the main film plotlines and characters but again what it offers is promise rather than a thing in and of itself

there's a terrible awkwardness in characters passively existing within your character's sphere as plot devices/motivating elements while their writers are all but absent from the entire endeavour; you sit there looking at them, dreaming of plotlines, and can never discuss them bc they're in stasis

also I like it when you post about tabletop games and rts and like dumb starcraft plotlines

I'm not upset at that ending at all. I'm excited to see where this goes because I love watching Joe work & they set up some interesting plotlines going into next year.
Did I want a longer reign? Yes. But he's been the main character all year and telling this story can be great too.

This is one of those times im glad reality is not burdened by needing believable plotlines

Don't get me wrong, Judge Dredd is a great series, but the original run of Rogue Trooper? Better story, tighter plotlines, and goddamn was the political commentary scathing.

There's an old episode of south park where they make fun of family guy, I think? But basically the plotlines of family guy episodes were decided by a tank of manatees who selected a series of idea balls to generate the plotlines, and that's how I feel about the world right now. Just jumbled madness.

i hope u know as an outside observer i'm getting a lot joy out of these little snippets bc i loooove these very involved kinda of plotlines that everyone is rly invested in :')

Writing is organized chaos with coffee breaks. Inside it's controlled chaos—juggling plotlines, tracking character arcs, building tension, all while making it look effortless. The chaos is necessary. Creativity requires disorder.

final rating of would you marry me? kdrama:

☆ ☆ ☆ 1/2
good enjoyable kdrama but too many plotlines went on for WAY too long. and some plotlines needed more time.
🧵 of me watching would you marry me? k drama cause i can tell it’s either gonna be the best kdrama ive watched in a while or a hate watch.

also for my notes later.

Fine, but their plotlines are frequently predictable and their characters two-dimensional.

Still better than the cliché-filled pulp by Great Whites though
Tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) are more than just apex predators — they’re vital storytellers of the Pacific.

Because they can swim vast distances along coastlines and even across the Pacific, tiger sharks also help us uncover how marine life connects across island nations and ocean corridors.

i hate misunderstanding plotlines with an eternal passion
November 19, 2025 at 7:08 PM

All I'm saying is heavensward in retrospect has dogshit pacing and weird abandoned plotlines and contrivances. And it gets glazed all the time. But storm blood and dt can't catch a break. Sus.

I'm a massive Stargate fan. I loved SG1, I liked Atlantis, Universe was good when it wasn't ripping off BSG plotlines and Infinity... also exists... 😅🤣

My question though is do we NEED new Stargate? I hope it's great but I wonder what stories are left to tell without feeling arbitrary or contrived

I am becoming quite sick of 8 episode seasons from major shows. It condenses plotlines and makes unnecessary cuts to stories. Even 2 more episodes would be preferable with 10 episodes stretched out across a longer release schedule.
