🔸Reaganomics
🔸Giving Evangelicals a direct pipeline to government through fear and dark money; completely subverting the First Amendment
🔸Not to mention the absolute tomfoolery in the Middle East and basically holding an election hostage

Someone suggested that Carney knows the pipeline won’t happen, and that this deal with Alberta is just to stop them from whining and crying “separation”. One can hope, I guess.

As an Albertan I am cringing at this. I don’t support a pipeline, not one more public dollar should go to an industry we are already paying far too much for.
I support Indigenous Rights and Coastal First Nations. By doing this you are signalling you don’t. That’s unacceptable.Uphold the tanker ban

Sorry to hear that - consider them
just the pipeline then - you want a referral and they should do it anyway xx

Instagram has become a pipeline for extremist content. Influencers like Hayden McDougall and Dylan Shane are blasting out extremist content, Nazi symbols, and hate-branded merchandise to massive audiences. The platform’s refusal to intervene is turning fringe neo-Nazism into mainstream culture.

I hope sincerely that you're just shining on that dullard in Aberta because despite voting for your party, if you make one move to install that pipeline you'll be opposed by every BC resident I know, and we are Without Humour about this

"This is a great for Alberta, this is a great day for Canada."

PM Mark Carney shares the broad strokes on the deal between the feds and Ottawa on an energy plan, including an oil pipeline to Asia.
November 27, 2025 at 4:55 PM
The fact that BC representatives ( @davidebybc.bsky.social or any coastal First Nations) were not part of this MOU or announcement, suggests to me that this is a farce and the pipeline will never happen. And the Liberals will probably lose political capital in BC and likely won't gain in AB.
November 27, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Especially given the bills that Carney has introduced and the budget, all of which has upset left of centre voters in BC. This pipeline announcement assures those voters shift back to NDP in the next election. And as you suggest, that will likely mean Cons elected in some ridings.

It's removing the "blame" that Smith is putting on the feds, potentially.
I'm not really sure how much more likely the probability of a new pipeline actually is though... I'm guessing there's a betting site that can figure that out... soon everything will just be betting sites.

Unfortunately, fossil fuels aren't really an answer to any of these challenges. Any new pipeline is - objectively - a decade away from tidewater and markets are fading fast. You want home grown resilience? Build renewables, invest in the grid, especially in sunny, windy Alberta.

A friendly handshake between PM Mark Carney and Premier Danielle Smith as they unveil an MOU on an energy framework including a path forward on a new pipeline to the west coast.

Prime Minister Carney announces energy deal with Alberta: "At the core of the agreement, of course, is a priority to have a pipeline to Asia that's going to make Canada stronger, more independent, more resilient, more sustainable."

Re: pipeline MOU between Alberta and Ottawa, B.C. Energy Minister Adrian Dix said yesterday having places like Alta and Sask discussing this without B.C. sort of like if David Eby, Wab Kinew and Doug Fort started making decisions about Alberta without Smith, and it likely wouldn’t go over well.
November 27, 2025 at 4:52 PM
We already built them one pipeline that isn’t paying for itself, Canada’s emissions keep going up due to oil sands expansion, carbon pricing was reversed, profits are offshored as Canadian companies are bought, and BC and Indigenous Peoples weren’t invited to the table.
November 27, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Why are the Liberals working so hard to try and appease the whims of Danielle Smith and Alberta??
This pipeline seems like an incredibly bad idea and a colossal waste it taxpayer dollars - not to mention angering First Nations and BC residents who's opposition to it is being ignored.

I have been a Liberal all my life. I still am a liberal but this Carney pipeline deal with Alberta, stabbing BC in the back, means I will be voting for the candidate most likely to defeat Wade Grant. The only way I could support him is if he stands with his Province.
November 27, 2025 at 4:50 PM
This MOU is a joke, we don't need or want another pipeline. There's no market for it, no proponent, no interest.
It's a political play to appease Alberta with a pointless project with the potential to ruin a large swath of BC coast.
This project will and should never happen.
In the face of global trade shifts and uncertainty, we’re working to build a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive, and more independent economy.

Canada’s MOU with Alberta will ensure we can advance that mission together.

Canadians already paid for a pipeline! Malaria is going to drain Albertans dry and leave Alberta in a burning pile of 💩 #corruption #moneylaundering #Panama #distraction #IDU #fascism
November 27, 2025 at 4:48 PM
Albertan here. If a single public dollar goes towards a pipeline this is a failure. I will fight tooth and nail along with BC Coastal First Nations to protect interests in BC that are already making Canada stronger, more competitive, sustainable, and more independent.

Oh yeah that's a way better example of the issue with blocklists. I've got some stuff in the pipeline (mainly limited by spoons rn) that will hopefully massively improve this and bluesky PBLLC has their own "moderation v2" dev push going on as well right now.
