Well, hell yeah! Let's celebrate. I love rocks. Prefer their company to most humans, in fact. And if they glow under UV lamp, there's a compulsion to collect them like Pokémon.

A collection of self collected fluorite, (chips mostly,) from the Minerva No.1 Mine in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. Hoarded these back in June. Photo shows a PIP of a small Keokuk, Iowa geode displaying phosphorescence. This phenomena occurs when it takes longer for the excited particles in the rock to calm back to their normal state after the UV light is cut off. A photo of a freakishly large Perky Box collection in my hoard o' minerals. Named after the creator, Willard Perkins, these little plastic boxes were/are the "sliced bread" of mineral collectors worldwide. My collection here represents minerals from six of the seven continents...each about the size of a thumbnail. Another split frame, but shows a slice of my favorite glow rock ever! It's called Youngite and it hails from only one place in the world: a cave in Wyoming. Consisting of a volcanic breccia with precipitated uranyl rich chalcedony, it's most reactive under UV-C. Apologies for the fuzziness of the top frame, it's difficult to photograph uv reactions sometimes.
