My entry for #BirdOfTheDay for the Al. theme of #Green is of these #photos of a captive #Javan #Green #Peafowl. This is a very beautiful and special bird. It is more aggressive (but less hardy) than the related blue peafowl. #bird #birds #photography 🪶 #Endangered

...But that goes to something I was strangely thinking about before.

Why did TaleSpin have a peafowl sound in the background a lot?

Apparently, that was as a connection to the original Jungle Book.

...Well, I think it's been a symbol of many things in India.

*research* What I'm reading associates them heavily with the Maurya Empire.

...Apparently, that answers a question my mind has wondered about forever. Why ARE peafowl heavily associated with India?

...However, in terms of animals and leadership, apparently, my mind also thinks of rams, too.

...Although my mind is being pedantic and saying peafowl have been a royal symbol, too

...And now I have to wonder which one of the India's regimes that was associated to

(and I super think it was India)

This is how my peafowl are. Everyone asks if they’re mean and I’m always like, not to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

The peafowl looked even more stunning face to face than on his profile picture. His red and orange feathers framing the rest of his body beautifully. He gracefully leans to the side, using the table to rest his right arm, looking almost expectantly.
You blurt out that you’re happy he came.

The beginning of peafowl mating season in the Grove. The eyes! Hypnotic is it not?

Only peafowl should be allowed to have such power.

While I feel like my background in breaking up numerous duck/chicken/peafowl conflicts for 11 years would transfer over to beaver conflict resolution easily, I would really want to give coordinating storytelling about/at the Great Lakes a go.
I need to know everything about job #6 right now
