it's bad for gaming but fine for DL work afaik. Think 4 pcie4 slots is the highest I'm going to find. All the mining mobos still stuck on pcie3 from what I see.

If it doesn't detect it in both slots and the previous one works fine, then it might be weird incompatibility issue or the drive is DOA and you want RMA. Also you can totally use pcie4 drive, it will just work at pcie3 speeds

my mobo died like three years ago. it was in the RMA window, so I did that and bought a cheapo to tide me over. but i'm lazy and never swapped in the RMA board
upgrading the gpu and need the PCIE4 slot on the RMA'd board so I did the swap. works. boots. no need to reinstall my OS.
I love Linux.

Needing a new PC case for the first time. I have kept the same one for 16 years from my very first build and I regrettably have to replace it because USB C is essential now. I tried to get a PCIE card first but I don't have PCIE4+ available and I don't wanna buy a new motherboard just for ports..

Avg framerate on new map: 76-82fps
Does this track with other people's experience so far?

since this mobo has both pcie 5 & 4 nvme slots, I'm giving it a 2tb main drive w/ a 4tb pcie4 drive. excited to see how well the next gen storage does with load times
